 The Trade Commission Office of Spain in Chicago is part of a network of five offices (Washington DC, New York, Los Angeles, Chicago and Miami) in the United States. Our goal is foster business relations between Spain and the USA. Our mission is to connect Spanish and US companies and institutions, in particular in the areas of manufacturing, infrastructures and health, promoting investments and greater awareness of business opportunities.

Mr. Erik Rovina

Mr. Rovina’s professional trajectory has been closely tied to international trade. He began his career in 2000 as an intern at the Trade Commission of Spain in Chicago, an institution to which he returns 25 years later as Trade Commissioner.

As a civil servant at the Ministry of Economy and Trade of Spain, he has held several distinguished positions in Madrid, including Chief of Staff to the Secretary of State for Trade (2020–2024), Director for Creative Industries at ICEX Spain Trade and Investment (2024–2025), and Deputy Director General for Trade Policy with the Americas (2012–2015), among others.

His international experience includes postings at the Trade Commissions of Spain in Mumbai, India (2006–2011), and Dubai, United Arab Emirates (2015–2020). His current assignment in Chicago, his third abroad, further consolidates a career dedicated to the field of international trade.

Ms. Lluisa Oliveras

Ms. Lluisa Oliveras brings a wealth of expertise to the Trade Commission, spanning more than 25 years. Currently serving as Director, she leads an energetic team that helps Spanish companies enter the US market by offering personalized consulting services, conducting market research, fostering connections with both U.S. companies and institutions, and so much more.
