 A statutory body established in 1966, the Hong Kong Trade   Development Council (HKTDC) is the global marketing arm and public service   hub for Hong Kong-based manufacturers, traders and service providers. The   Council’s Chicago office promotes trade and investment ties between Hong   Kong, Chinese Mainland and 20 Midwestern States.
  With more than 40 global offices, including 11 on the Chinese Mainland, the   HKTDC promotes Hong Kong as a platform for doing business with China and   throughout Asia.
  The HKTDC also organizes trade fairs and business missions to connect   companies with opportunities in Hong Kong and on the mainland, while   providing information via trade publications, research reports and online.

MIDWEST, USA - (20 states)

Mr. Winchell Cheung was appointed Director, Midwest of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council in November 2013. Based in Hong Kong with 40 plus offices around the world, the Council is the statutory organization responsible for promoting and developing Hong Kong’s external trade.

Mr. Cheung heads the Council’s Chicago office. He is responsible for business development, strategic planning and implementation of the Council’s marketing strategies to foster commercial and investment ties between Hong Kong, Chinese Mainland and 20 Midwestern States. He began his career in international shipping, and prior to assuming his current post, he represented the Council in various countries and regions. Having lived and worked in the US, Asia, Europe and Latin America, he has deep experience and expertise in international business in both emerging and developed markets.

Mr. Cheung earned a BS degree in Business Administration from California State Polytechnic University and an LL.M. in International Law from the University of London. He is a US Certified Merger & Acquisition Advisor and has facilitated numerous cross-border transactions, alliances and partnerships.

Bridget Lee joined the HKTDC Chicago Office in 2001 and was appointed Director Chicago, in 2009. She is responsible for promoting Hong Kong as a trade and business platform in the Midwest and Central USA. As Director, Lee is responsible for outreach to 20 Midwest and Central U.S. States. Prior to joining the Council in 2001, she worked in Singapore, Indonesia, Hong Kong, and Thailand in a marketing capacity. Her extensive experience includes marketing, corporate and public relations work with joint ventures between Asian, Australian, American, and German companies for market entry of new brands, B2B products, technology, real estate and financial services in South East Asia. Bridget P. Lee is a graduate of Monash University, Melbourne, Australia, B.A.(Hons) in International Relations and Philosophy. She has been a resident of Illinois since November 2000.
