The mission of the Consulate General of the Netherlands in Chicago, open since 1870, is to promote trade and investment between the Netherlands and the Midwest of the United States. While we respond to requests from all business areas, our own focus is on 8 areas of innovation and relevance for the Midwest and the Netherlands: mobility, advanced manufacturing, water, agtech & food, medtech, smart cities, energy, and startups. American companies looking to expand into the European market can also count on assistance with the setting up of European headquarters, sales offices, research centers or logistics facilities.
