Economic diplomacy, which aims to further strengthen robust economic ties between the Philippines and the US Midwest, is one of the three pillars of the Philippine Consulate General in Chicago’s foreign policy work. The mandate is pursued through the following initiatives, among others:

- Promotion of trade and investment between the Philippines and the 12 Midwest states in the US;

- Assistance to US-based companies looking to expand, set-up business offices, factories, or logistics facilities in the Philippines;

- Assistance in exporting Philippine products and services to the US;

- Organization of business missions and meetings to connect the investors and companies with opportunities in the Philippines;

- Facilitation of the entry of businessmen to the Philippines through the issuance of appropriate visa; and

- Legalization of documents and contracts for use in the Philippines.
