Consulate General of Mexico in Chicago

The Economic Affairs section at the Mexican Consulate oversees the trade and economic partnership between Mexico and the state of Illinois and northern Indiana. The office is responsible for the promotion of trade, investment, tourism, as well as technical and scientific cooperation. Our aim is to increase, strengthen and deepen the already dynamic economic ties between Mexico and the Midwest by identifying areas of opportunity for commercial exchange.

Gabriel Mendoza López is the Consul for Economic and Cultural Affairs at the Consulate General of Mexico in Chicago. He holds a MA in International Migration from El Colegio de la Frontera and a BA in International Relations from BUAP in Puebla, Mexico. He is a career diplomat and has previously served in Thailand, El Salvador and Brazil.
