  Wallonia (Belgium) Trade-Investment Agency  is the government agency of the Wallonia Region of  Belgium in charge of foreign trade promotion and foreign investment  attraction. As an Export Agency, Awex assists buyers and decision-makers by  supplying information on Wallonia's products and services. Awex also  facilitates connections between foreign and Wallonia entities. 

As an Investment  Agency, Awex partners with foreign companies seeking to establish or expand  their activities in Europe.

Stephano  Smars , Trade Commissioner

 Stephano  Smars is the new Trade Commissioner in charge of the  Wallonia (Belgium) Trade-Investment Agency  in Chicago. Prior to Chicago, he was posted in  Riyad (Saudi Arabia) for 5 years and in Shanghai (China) for 12 years.

Stephano  holds a bachelor and master degree in Political Sciences, International  Relations and Development Studies from ULB, the Free University of  Brussels,  Belgium. 

He lives in Chicago with his wife and son.
