ECONOMIC DIVISION – TAIPEI ECONOMIC AND CULTURAL OFFICE IN CHICAGO
The Economic Division of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Chicago is an overseas branch of the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) of the Republic of China (Taiwan). The Division’s service area covers 10 states in the U.S. Midwest. The mission of the Division is to promote economic relationships between Taiwan and the Midwest region of the United States to enhance bilateral trade, increase investment and engage in technology cooperation.

MING-YEA LIN, Director of Economic Division, Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Chicago
Ming-Yea Lin serves as Director of the Economic Division of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) in Chicago since June 2024. She is responsible for promoting bilateral trade and investment relations between Taiwan and U.S. Midwest.
Ms. Lin has been in the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) for over 25 years and has held multiple positions within the Ministry. Prior to this position, Ms. Lin served as Chief of Staff at the Office of Deputy Minister C.C. Chen, Taiwan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs. She has also held several other significant roles, including Deputy Director of the Multilateral Trade Division for the Bureau of Foreign Trade (2021), Director of Economic Division of TECO in Chile (2017-2021), First Economic Secretary of TECO in Indonesia (2015-2017), Economic Secretary of Office of Trade Negotiations (2012- 2015), and Economic Secretary of TECO in Mexico (2006-2012).
Ms. Lin holds a Master of Science in International Political Economy from the London School of Economics
